Natural inclination

Natural inclination comprises of two words “natural” and “inclination”.

Natural according to the oxford dictionary is defined as “existing in or derived from nature” while Macmillan dictionary defines it as “existing in nature and not produced or caused by people”.

Finally, YOURDICTIONARY.COM defines it as “present by virtue of nature; innate; not acquired”.

On the other hand, Merriam Webstar dictionary defines inclination “as a feeling of wanting to do something: a tendency to do something”.

Macmillan dictionary defines it as “a tendency to behave in a particular way or to have a particular interest”. Wordink.com says that, “it is a characteristic disposition to do, prefer, or favor one thing rather than another; a propensity”

Finally source Encyclopedia.com defines it as a person’s natural tendency or urge to act or feel in a particular way. A disposition or propensity, an interest in or liking for something.

So natural inclination simply refers to a feeling that exists in one by nature urging on to do something one likes or cherish. Something capable of putting money in one’s pocket, food on one’s table and a smile on the faces of others if properly harnessed or well utilized.

Natural inclination could as well be referred to as that which holds ones attention for a longer period of time without one getting bored of it. Surely, what one loves and enjoys doing. It is a place of one in destiny, where one can effectively, function and excel owing to this great strength naturally embedded in one.

Unfortunately, many in the world today have neglected this urge and nudge and have themselves to blame as they grope endlessly in the darkness in search of success. On the other hand, men who have followed this great strength, natural inclination have elevated to a place of honor and glory where they become celebrities.

Those men have printed their names with gold in their various fields of endeavors owing to their great achievements and immense contribution to the world of the humans. Time will fail me to tell you about these great men of worth and substance, who are witnesses to this great ability in man endowed by his maker. In the sporting world, celebrities like Messi, Ronaldo, Jay-Jay Okocha, Kanu Nwankwo to name but a few will testify to these great strength and ability in man. What have we to say of great men and women of literary world like: Professor Chinua Achebe, Wole Soyinka, William Shakespeare, Chimamanda Adichie and a whole lot of others. They will surely confirm this strength.  For men in every field of endeavor rise to fame, dominating the world and sit with kings and princes just by recognizing, embracing and harnessing this force capable of transforming humans.

Natural inclination must be followed for career success, The OXFORD ADVANCED LEARNERS DICTIONARY admonishes “when choosing a career follow your natural inclination”.

In view of the above, it is evident that following ones natural inclination is a sure road that leads to freedom and fulfillment in life. Again, Travis Saunders says: “for you to have natural inclination, you won’t find freedom denying your inclination. It isn’t freedom to be right handed but determined to do everything with your left. Is it?

Conclusively, though career success depends extensively on natural inclination when choosing a career, some other factors are a well needed to work alongside with natural inclination for career success.
